The parking system at Commonwealth University-Lock Haven is designed to protect the parking privileges of the permit-holders and visitors. The parking regulations are intended to provide students, faculty, staff, and visitors with safe, secure, and convenient places to park.

Although CU-Lock Haven cannot guarantee the most convenient parking space will always be available, the University community will be best served if all users of campus parking follow the guidelines. 

Park at Your Own Risk

Please be aware that all vehicles parked on Commonwealth University property is done so at the owner’s risk.  CU-Lock Haven is not responsible for any theft, damage or loss of property.  By parking on a CU campus, you agree to assume all liability.

Student Parking Information

  • Commuter Students Living Outside Perimeter - $40
  • Clearfield Students - $40
  • Resident Students with 30 or More Credits - $40
  • Resident Students with 29 or Less Credits - $80
  • Commuter Students Living Inside the Perimeter - $80
  • Graduate PA Program Students - $40
  • Campus Village Students - $40
  • Jack Stadium (if necessary) - $40

*Only credit/debit card payments will be accepted. Cash is no longer accepted to pay for parking permits or parking fines.

Parking Tickets and Permits

By using a ticket number and/or plate number, you can pay some or all of your outstanding parking tickets online via VISA, Mastercard, or Discover. Payment of any ticket constitutes final disposition of the violation. Please keep payment confirmation for your records. Cash payments will not be accepted.

To ensure proper credit to parking ticket record, please follow these steps:

  1. Type in the ticket # in the "Identifying Number" field.
  2. Type in the license plate # in the "Additional Payment Information" field.

Reminder: Tickets not paid within 72 hours a $1 surcharge is added, if applicable, please add this amount to the amount you are paying.

If you feel that you were ticketed in error—or that extenuating circumstances existed—you may file an appeal. Attach the ticket to the form and mail to LHU University Police Department, 32 Glenn Road Lock Haven, PA 17745, email to police@lockhaven.edu or fax 570-484-2521.  All appeal decisions are final.  Appeals without merit will be rejected.

Tire boots will not be removed for unpaid parking tickets unless payment is made in full through the university website. Special requests and partial payments will not be accepted.

Pay Parking Tickets

To prepay your parking permit or validator online via VISA, Mastercard, or Discover please read the following definitions and select the proper one. Please keep payment confirmation for your records. Cash payments will not be accepted.

Please follow these steps to ensure proper credit:

  1. Type the registrant's name in the Identifying Number and/or Name field.
  2. Type the Decal Color in the additional payment information field.
    • Commuter Student-Green. Any university student whose local residence is outside the designated perimeter, as defined by the University Parking Committee.  Cost $40
    • Resident Student- Students residing in university owned residence halls (Fairview Suites, North, Woolridge, or Smith) with 30 or more earned credit hours. Cost $40
    • Students living inside the parking perimeter, as defined by the University Parking Committee. Cost $80
    • Students with 29 or less earned credit hours living in university owned residence halls (Fairview Suites or Smith). Cost $80
    • PA Graduate Program- Students in the graduate program (this program runs from May to May)
    • Campus Village Student-Yellow. Students residing in Campus Village. Cost $40
    • Special Permits-Special. Temporary employees, vendors, contractors, interns, Rec Center use alumni only. Cost $20
  3. Print confirmation receipt for your records.
  4. Must submit a valid driver's license and vehicle registration of vehicles that will display hangtag.
  5. Complete the on-line vehicle registration form.

Pay for Parking Permit

Reserved/Guaranteed Parking-Off campus housing, considered to be within walking distance to the campus, as defined by the University Parking Committee whose local or permanent address is within this designated perimeter and ineligible students (with 0-29) earned credit hours. Parking will be assigned to Area 7 (red lined spaces), 8 and 16 (orange lined spaces).  Cost $80.

There is NO CHARGE for faculty, staff and food service workers to obtain a campus parking permit.
