Clearfield

After careful analysis, Commonwealth University will cease operations at the Clearfield teaching location following the end of the 2026-27 academic year. Fall 2025 will be the final semester for students to begin programs at Clearfield. Students enrolled at Clearfield will be able to continue their programs as scheduled. All faculty and staff members will be offered the opportunity to continue their employment at the Lock Haven campus, following the conclusion of operations at Clearfield.

Clearfield helps students develop important skills like communication and critical thinking through classroom instruction and real-world practice in hospitals, prisons, and more. Popular areas of choice include criminal justice, nursing, social work, and technical leadership, as well as a physician assistant graduate program.

Clearfield's Foundation Village includes 32 beds consisting of five, 4-bedroom suites and six, 2-bedroom suite-style apartments. These apartments provide both the convenience of being near campus as well as comfortable accommodations to enhance your college experience. The apartments are fully furnished with a living room, air conditioned, and high speed internet. Kitchens have all appliances, including full size washer and dryers in each apartment. The private bedrooms have a full size bed, desk, chair, dresser and closet. There is one full size bathroom for every two students.
