Welcome back to the Haven! Welcome to the Lock Haven Alumni Association!

Our mission is to serve alumni by connecting them with the University, current students and their fellow classmates. If you are interested in participating in an event, mentoring a student or if you are coming to town and would like a tour of our beautiful campus, please call the Alumni Office at (570) 484-2586.

We realize that it may be difficult to get back to campus, so that is why we are bringing The Haven to you! Visit our events page to see where we are going next. We have hosted events in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Harrisburg, State College and Williamsport, just to name a few.

We can't wait to see you back at The Haven!

There are many ways for you to participate in the Alumni Association, and we encourage you to check out the sections below.

Volunteer to engage fellow Haven alums, or support current students. Volunteer for the alumni board of directors, chair a reunion, or serve as a resume reviewer or mock interviewer, panelist or presenter either virtually or in person. Have a great story to tell? Inspire others!

Volunteer Opportunities Volunteer Survey

Interested alumni are encouraged to volunteer to help students at any of the campuses of Commonwealth University. Your expertise and professional experience is just what we need to support and engage students as they navigate career choices while taking classes.

  • Provide an internship by emailing recruit@commonwealthu.edu
  • Give financially to help current students. Start or support a scholarship, establish or enhance a professional experience grant, or add to a fund.

Board of Directors

The Lock Haven Alumni Association's Board of Directors consists of 20 alumni from the 1970s to the 2020s and every decade in between. Presided by John Newcomer ’84 and vice president George Way '78, the Board is divided into three committees: Legacy, Engagement, Relationship/Campus. Each committee has a chair representative that works closely with Alumni Office staff to assist in fundraising, marketing, relationship-building and event planning initiatives that support the Lock Haven Alumni Office's mission. All board members are volunteers who have been elected into their roles in large part for their unwavering loyalty and commitment to preserving the past while ensuring the future of Commonwealth University - Lock Haven.
