Interim Dean of Honors and Interdisciplinary Studies
This fit you? Okay, let's climb together!
As a Multidisciplinary Studies major you'll be required to complete 30 or 33 credit hours of courses that — with the help of an advisor — will be selected from multiple disciplines and be combined into a coherent academic program.
- 15 credits may be lower division (100 or 200 level); at least 12 credits must be upper division (300 or 400 level).
- A minimum of eight credits from each of two departments (for a total of at least 16 credits) are required.
- The remaining credits can come from any department or combination of departments.
You'll also complete a three- or six-credit integrative senior capstone experience, which can be a service learning project or an academic project that demonstrates your multidisciplinary skillset. During this capstone course, you'll also create an ePortfolio that documents the experience with your multidisciplinary skillset. If you complete a six-credit capstone, you'll need 33 total credit hours.
As an Multidisciplinary Studies student, you must meet all of our requirements for graduation (e.g. general education requirements, all Multidisciplinary Studies major requirements, earning a minimum of 120 credits with a minimum cumulative grade point average of a 2.0). You must also achieve a 2.0 average in the classes for your major.
