The Geography Minor provides students with an understanding of the physical and human/cultural world from a spatial and temporal perspective, and an ability to understand interaction between the two.

Professor in Environmental, Geographical and Geological Sciences
Students analyze and generate maps and charts for geospatial applications, and have the flexibility to focus on either natural or human landscape analysis through the availability of a range of electives.
Courses and Curriculum
Geography Minor Requirements
- 18 credits required for minor completion
- Students should meet with their academic advisor each semester and use Degree Works to monitor their individual progress toward completion of the minor.
Students will
- demonstrate a comprehension of core concepts of geographic thought (spatial and temporal; physical, and human landscapes, and interaction between the two),
- utilize discipline-specific methods to analyze geographic issues,
- obtain, evaluate, and generate quantitative and qualitative spatial and temporal data, and
- communicate geographic information with maps and charts, and in writing, using appropriate methods and terminology.
