Over the past 25 years, I have accrued a wide array of experiences in the fields of fisheries, aquaculture, and aquatic sciences. My BS degree is in Fisheries Biology from Mansfield University. Both my MS and PhD are from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.  From there, I kept travelling west having the opportunity, as a post-doctoral researcher, to study water rights issues of endangered Silvery minnow at the University of New Mexico and hatchery wild interactions of endangered Coho salmon at Oregon State University. Before becoming an Assistant Professor at Mansfield University, I was the Director of a conservation genetics lab for the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.  Over the course of my career, I have published 20+ peer reviewed articles relating to fisheries management and conservation, worked with approximately 100 aquatic species spanning three continents, been engaged in at least 45 interdisciplinary problems related to fisheries management, ecology, and conservation biology, and am or have been involved with at least eight intra-regional, six inter-regional, and three inter-agency groups working to resolve within and among regional problems associated with fisheries resources, culture and propagation, and inter-jurisdictional species management and conservation.

I have come full circle to lead the Fisheries program at Mansfield University where I have the opportunity to pass on the many experiences that I have accrued over the years to the next generation of fisheries and aquatic scientists.
