CU-Mansfield health sciences students awarded record $270,000 in scholarships from Guthrie

SAYRE, Pa. – Robert Packer Hospital awarded 48 Mansfield University health sciences students a combined $270,000 in scholarships. The record scholarship amount was awarded to MU students enrolled in upper division coursework in the radiology, respiratory care, and nursing programs.

Scholarship recipients were selected by a committee that included Mansfield University faculty and Robert Packer Hospital nursing administration, using a wide range of criteria.

“Mansfield University health sciences students have dedicated their futures to helping others,” explained Dr. Bashar Hanna, interim president of Mansfield University. “The impact on the lives of our students by these generous donors cannot be measured. We thank everyone at Robert Packer Hospital for their support of Mansfield University students.”

Mansfield University’s Nursing and Allied Health Sciences department and Robert Packer Hospital partner to provide extensive education and practical experience for future health care professionals. Students in the A.A.S. in radiology, B.S. in respiratory care, and B.S.N. in nursing programs complete prerequisite courses at the Mansfield University campus before completing their degree at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa.

About 99% of MU nursing, radiology, and respiratory therapy students are employed or continuing their education within months of graduation.
