The minor includes an introductory music fundamentals course, one semester of music history, four semesters of applied music lessons and music ensembles, and six credits of music electives by advisement. Students in this minor will gain hands-on experience working with music faculty and music students to build music knowledge and skills.

Music Minor Requirements
- 18 credits required for minor completion
- Students should meet with their academic advisor each semester and use Degree Works to monitor their individual progress toward completion of the minor.
- Provide a basic understanding of the concepts, processes, skills, and techniques used in the field of music engagement and performance.
- Offer an area of study, complementary to many non-music major fields of study, which will add a breadth and depth of perspective.
- Give students a broader level of understanding and the resources to think creatively and divergently, and act as conceptual problem solvers.
