Professor of Economics
The minor is often used by students who already have a major, and use economics minor to complement their own major; and/or further their education in economics with the aim of exploring the possibility of a major in economics or having the opportunity to pursue a further study or career in economics.
The Economics curriculum offers a systematic study of the economic activities of firms, households, and government. The core of the curriculum enables students to master basic principles of economics, develop analytical skills, and interpret economic phenomena.

Economics Minor Requirements
- 18 credits required for minor completion
- Students should meet with their academic advisor each semester and use Degree Works to monitor their individual progress toward completion of the minor.
Learning goals and outcomes for economics minor are as follows:
- Outline a variety of economic theories, describe their assumptions, and state their predictions.
- Apply an economic model and collect, summarize, and explain data.
- Assess an argument about a current economic, social, and political issue. Formulate and test a hypothesis and interpret the results.
- Discuss original interpretations of an economic analysis, and support an argument based on relevant literature.
