Professor of Social Work
The Child Welfare minor introduces students to issues specific to children and families, from developmental, environmental, and social work perspectives. It is an appropriate minor for any student who will be working in roles that involve protecting vulnerable children.

Child Welfare Minor Requirements
- 18 credits required for minor completion
- Students should meet with their academic advisor each semester and use Degree Works to monitor their individual progress toward completion of the minor.
The following are the Student Learning Outcomes for the Child Welfare Minor.
- The curriculum is designed to introduce students to basic knowledge skills and abilities required to work with or recognize issues surrounding vulnerable children and families.
- Learners will be able to describe process of assessment, intervention, and evaluation of practice with vulnerable children and families.
- Learners will be able to explain how professional values and ethics influence the decision-making process in child
