Dr. Viviana X. Lucabeche, Ph.D., LCSW, is the MSW Program Director and a Pennsylvania Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 20 years of experience in clinical counseling and higher education. She earned her BA in Social Work from Muhlenberg College, her MSW from the University of Pennsylvania, and her Ph.D. in Social Work from Widener University.
Dr. Lucabeche is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel respected and empowered to engage with diverse perspectives. She aims to help students develop critical thinking and communication skills, which are fundamental to effective social work practice.
As a Hispanic female scholar, Dr. Lucabeche's research focuses on social justice, racial and gender disparities, and their impact on substance use treatment outcomes. Recognized as an expert in this field, she is invited to peer-review manuscripts for professional journals. Her research has been published in leading academic journals and presented at national conferences.
