Dr. Yoon joined the Social Work Program in the fall of 2017. Dr. Yoon received his MSW in Social Work from Michigan State University and PhD in Public Health from the University of South Carolina in 2016. Prior to coming to Bloomsburg, Dr. Yoon served as a coordinator for free meal service program for Homeless population and the program for Korean American older adults in in Columbia, South Carolina. Dr. Yoon has dedicated his career to the study of aging and health among older adult populations, especially among Korean American older adults and older adults in the United States. His major research interest is in well-being of older adults and health seeking behaviors among older adults. Dr. Yoon values teaching, advising, and mentoring students and belies it to be an essential part of his role as a social work educator.
