At Commonwealth University’s Office of Workplace Safety, we are dedicated to fostering a culture of safety, well-being, and empowerment for all members of our university community. Our commitment extends beyond compliance; it is rooted in a deep dedication to ensuring the health and safety of every individual who enters our campuses.
Workplace Safety is responsible for
- Safety Standards and Procedures: We establish safety standards and procedures to govern all aspects of workplace activities, promoting a culture of ownership, and compliance. We continuously review and update workplace safety programs and procedures in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
- Training and Education: We provide comprehensive training and educational programs to support our campus community with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain a safety and healthy work environment.
- Emergency Preparedness: We develop and maintain emergency response plans, providing guidance and resources to effectively respond to emergency situations.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: We identify, assess, and mitigate potential hazards in the workplace to proactively safeguard the well-being of our campus community.
