The Commonwealth University Bloomsburg Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic provides diagnostic and therapeutic services to children and adults with a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders. All clinical services are provided by graduate students in the speech-language pathology and audiology programs under the supervision of our clinical supervisors who are are certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed by the State of Pennsylvania Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.

Clinic Specializations
The CU Bloomsburg Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic specializes in diagnosing and treating a wide range of communication, swallowing, and balance disorders including the following:
Audiological Disorders
- Hearing Loss: Evaluations and rehabilitation for sensorineural/conductive hearing impairment
- Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD): Difficulty processing auditory information despite normal hearing
- Vestibular Disorders: Balance assessments and rehabilitation
Speech Disorders
- Articulation/Phonological Disorders: Difficulty producing speech sounds correctly
- Fluency Disorders: Stuttering and related disruptions in the flow of speech
- Voice Disorders: Pitch, volume, and quality issues (e.g., vocal nodules, paralysis)
- Motor Speech Disorders: Dysarthria and apraxia resulting from neurological conditions.
Language Disorders
- Developmental Language Disorders: Delays in expressive/receptive language in children
- Literacy Challenges: Reading/writing difficulties related to oral language disorders
- Social Communication Disorder: Difficulty using or understanding verbal and nonverbal communication in various social contexts
- Aphasia: Language impairment due to stroke or brain injury
- Cognitive-Communication Disorders: Memory, attention, and problem-solving deficits linked to traumatic brain injury or dementia
Swallowing Disorders
- Dysphagia: Difficulty swallowing due to neurological, structural, or age-related conditions
Clinical Services Provided
Speech and Language Services

All evaluations and therapeutic interventions are delivered by master’s level speech-language pathology students who work under the close supervision of licensed and certified speech-language pathologists.
Our team of students, clinic supervisors and faculty consultants are dedicated to helping you or your loved one with your communication needs.
Referrals to the clinic may be made by physicians, teachers, school administrators, parents, or the clients themselves.
Speech and Language Services Provided
- Comprehensive evaluations of communication including speech, language, and literacy
- Therapy for spoken and written language
- Articulation therapy
- Voice therapy for pitch, volume, and quality improvement
- Treatment for stuttering and other fluency disorders
- Management of myofunctional disorders, swallowing difficulties, and related functions
- Cognitive-communication disorder interventions
- Consultation for augmentative/alternative communication (AAC) needs
- Accent modification
We operate as a fee for service clinic. Estimated cost of services is available on request. We accept most insurances, including Medicare. Cash, check and most credit cards are also accepted.

Audiological Services

All consultations, evaluations, and interventions are delivered by doctoral level audiology students who work under the close supervision of licensed and certified audiologists.
Our team of students, clinic supervisors, and faculty consultants are dedicated to helping you or your loved one with your hearing and balance needs. We accept self-referrals and referrals from other professionals.

- Hearing aid evaluations, fitting, and dispensing
- Central auditory processing evaluations
- Aural rehabilitation services
- Tinnitus evaluation and treatment
