This is the official page of the Obiter, the official yearbook of Bloomsburg! Check back often to see what's new and exciting with the yearbook and also follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

The Community Government Association of Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg oversees, creates and produces Bloomsburg's Obiter yearbook each year. The Obiter yearbooks are provided to all officially graduating, undergraduate seniors (based on their official date of graduation), FREE, as a graduation gift from CGA.  The Obiter yearbook is typically in chronological order each year and flows from Summer session of a given year through to Spring of the following year.  An array of events and organizations are covered within the yearbook each year.

In conjunction with the yearbook, CGA also provides senior portrait sessions, with no sitting fee charged to senior students in both the Fall and Spring semesters each year.  Respective seniors for the graduating class have the opportunity to schedule a session and have their senior portraits taken free of charge.  Any portraits taken will be used in that year's yearbook (students are given an opportunity to select which portrait they wish to have used in the yearbook).  These senior students are given an option to order portraits (at their own expense) if they or their families choose to do so.

Help Us Tell Your Story!

Our staff can't be everywhere, so share your photos and stories via these easy resources. As the year progresses, the yearbook staff will add opportunities for students, faculty and staff alike to share via these easy resources... so be sure to check in here throughout the year!

Please note that we use google submission forms, so please use google chrome and be logged in with a university-affiliated email account.

The yearbook staff along with Jostens are excited to announce a new way to make this year's yearbook more memorable for each of you! This site will allow students to upload images right from their smart device. Students will have the opportunity to contribute to their story in two different ways.  One will be through “My Year” and the other through “School Life”.

  • "My Year" - All senior students who have their senior portrait taken for the yearbook, will be able to add 10 personal, storytelling images of themselves to be additional content (specifically about their personal journey) to the hard copy Obiter yearbook each year.
  • "School Life" - All students are able to contribute images to add to the overall story that makes up Bloomsburg University each year.

These images will first be reviewed, then possibly used throughout the book... but even if they aren't chosen to be displayed in the print book they can be selected to be used as additional content to supplement the book.

It’s free and super easy...

  • First - visit ybkplus.com
  • Second - enter a university affiliated email address (this email will be used for a one-time verification)
  • Third - confirm the email address. Once confirmed, you will be able to upload photos to TELL YOUR STORY! It's that easy!

Each year we invite you to help us make the yearbook all it can be!  Our photographers cannot be everywhere, so in addition to uploading your photos via Yearbook+, you can also submit your photos right to our inbox.

SUBMIT YOUR PHOTOS here, just be sure to name your images in the following format:
- Event_Date-Detail_Photographer-StudentName (example: Football_9_24_21_Sideline_YearbookAdviser).

Have a story to go with your pictures?  We'd love to hear it!  Just email your story to the Yearbook Adviser at obiteradv@commonwealthu.edu. Just be sure that the subject of your email identifies your submitted images in some way (example: Story to go with Football_9_24_21_Sideline_YearbookAdviser), so we can match them up.

The staff will review all photos and stories to determine what content can be used in the book... we cannot guarantee that all submissions will be used.  We look forward to seeing the campus through your eyes!

We would love to hear from you, please feel free to email the yearbook adviser (obiteradv@commonwealthu.edu) with your "big news", "something interesting/special", "exciting event", well you get the point!

The yearbook adviser will distribute your information to the yearbook staff, so be sure to include the best contact person and their contact information within your submission.  This way the yearbook staff can reach out to you if needed!

Submissions for the 2024-25 year will be accepted through 5/18/25.

Attention Seniors - Senior Portraits

Seniors who will be officially graduating during the 2024-25 year (summer 2024, fall 2024, winter 2024 or spring 2025) should schedule a portrait session, so that they can be featured in this year's yearbook.

Sessions will be available, in both the fall and spring semesters, per the schedules below.  Pictures must be taken and submitted during this time period in order to appear in the yearbook that they will receive (based on official graduation).  There are no sitting fees charged.  It is suggested that students wear casual business attire and the background used will be a neutral color.

NOTE:  If you are unable to schedule a session here on campus or choose to have your portraits taken elsewhere and would still like to be in the yearbook, please see the "External Senior Portrait Submission Form" option below. Please note that we use google submission forms, so please use google chrome and be logged in with a university affiliated email account.

Only those seniors officially graduating in Summer 2024, Fall 2024, Winter 2024 or Spring 2025 should schedule and attend a session during the Fall or Spring. Official graduation means the actual semester that a student receives a diploma, it does not necessarily correspond to when the student "walks". Yearbook eligibility is based on official graduation.

This form is intended for official graduates (meaning your diploma will be received) of Summer 2024, Fall 2024, Winter 2024 and Spring 2025 who were unable to have their senior portraits taken on campus in one of the Fall 2024 or Spring 2025 sessions.

Senior students that fall into this category, may want to have their portraits taken elsewhere and submit the photograph to us. If this is the case, the image will need to be a hi-res digital photo. It should be taken from the waist up and the distance between you and the camera should be approximately 75 inches. The background should be plain and we recommend students wear casual business attire. Cap/gown attire will be provided for cap/gown poses.

We are excited to announce that the Bloomsburg Obiter yearbook is able to provide a special feature that allows seniors to digitally sign the yearbooks of their fellow graduates.  Jostens launched this signing platform initially, as a response to COVID, but they had such a great response that they are continuing this special feature.

Yearbook Digital Signing Pages, will give every senior student in our school the chance to create personalized virtual signing pages, invite their friends to leave fun messages, and then print out the final pages to keep with their yearbook as a permanent keepsake. This is free for every senior student.
