The partnership between Red Rock Job Corps and Commonwealth University is one of mutual benefit – an educational organization whose students require quality staff members and a university that produces quality candidates.

“It is imperative that we hire compassionate and driven individuals who believe in integrity,” explained Roy Dalton, site director for Rock Job Corps. “we believe in the quality candidates that Commonwealth University of PA produces.

Dalton says that the organization has been able to make meaningful connections with potential hires while on the Commonwealth campuses, most recently at several Career Connections Expos such as Education, Public, Government, Health & Human Services, and DEIB.

“It is evident that the students who participate in the career fairs have strong soft skills needed in this industry, as well as robust resumes and credentialing,” said Dalton. “They are prepared … and eager to demonstrate their knowledge. “

It was not just the students that impressed Dalton.  One of the bonuses of recruiting at Commonwealth University is the frequency and ease with which Red Rock Job Corps can participate in Career Expos on campus.

“What was most impressive was the organization, participation, and frequency of the career expos that allow students to have a pipeline into employment,” explained Dalton. “It is evident that both staff and students are passionate about their education.”
