Lock Haven University celebrated its 2022 homecoming from September 15-18 with numerous activities for students, faculty, staff, alumni and other members of the LHU and local community.

The festivities began on Thursday, Sept. 15 with The Haven's 11th annual Lawn Party and Golf Cart Parade. This year's parade theme was "Adventure Awaits." A total of 55 golf carts, decorated by campus clubs and organizations, as well as alumni groups like the Lock Haven University Alumni Association and the Lock Haven State College class of 1972, made their way down North Fairview Street before transitioning to Ivy Lane and parking on the Poorman Commons to enjoy food, lawn games, and music with the rest of the campus community.

On the morning of Friday, Sept. 16, the 28th annual Alumni Classic Golf Tournament took place at Belles Springs Golf Course in Mill Hall, while a Kraft and Karry craft-making event simultaneously took place in the Belles Springs clubhouse. The winning golfers were Brian Deutsch, Thomas Foley, Kevin McGarry, and Dalton Kephart with a score of -12.

On Friday afternoon, the campus community celebrated the grand opening of the Robert and Dolores Lynch Multicultural Resource Center in Raub Hall. The center will serve as a student-centered resource that provides programming focused on diversity, equity and inclusion, while pushing initiatives that educate and communicate with campus and the local community from culturally diverse perspectives.

Friday evening's events were capped off with an alumni Mix & Mingle in the Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center that included performances by the Lock Haven marching band and cheerleaders. More than 70 alumni gathered at the center to enjoy food and drinks, and to reminisce about their time at The Haven.

Also on Friday, Lock Haven field hockey took on La Salle, winning 2-1 after a shootout, and the volleyball team defeated Bloomsburg 3-2 in five sets for its first win of the season.

Saturday's events kicked off with tailgating in the Hubert Jack Stadium parking lot before the Bald Eagles took on Clarion University. During tailgating, the class of 1972 celebrated its 50th reunion, and representatives from the Lock Haven University Foundation and Lock Haven University Alumni Association were on hand to greet alumni and visitors. Prior to the football game, the Lock Haven softball and lacrosse programs also held their annual alumnae games.

Saturday's events concluded with the induction of the 2020, 2021, and 2022 classes into the Lock Haven Athletics Hall of Fame in which nine athletes, coaches and alumni, and four teams were inducted.

Wrapping up the events on Sunday, the Lock Haven field hockey team defeated Rider 3-2 on a last-second goal by Alyssa Endrick that pushed the team's record to 7-0.

Haven Homecoming 2023 dates are set for September 21-24, 2023.
