The Lock Haven campus band will perform its first concert of the season on Thursday, March 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the Price Performance Center Auditorium. The spring concert is free and open to the public.
The program will include Sanuel R. Hazo's "Ride," inspired by a car ride down a country road in Pennsylvania; John Powell's "How to Train Your Dragon," based on a Paramount film about a young Viking teenager who aspires to become a dragon slayer; Steve Perry's "Zoot Suit Riot," a modern jazz composition based around the Los Angeles Zoot Suit Riots of the 1940s; and Gustav Holst's "Second Suite in F," a staple in the band repertoire based on memorable English folk songs.
