This spring, the Commonwealth University Circle K Club attended the Circle K District Conference at University of Pitt Greensburg.

Circle K Clubs from all around Pennsylvania gathered together to celebrate a year of service. The clubs completed community service together, had time of fellowship and looked back on the accomplishments from the last service year.

CU-Lock Haven students who attended the conference were Kiyona Potts, a criminal justice major from Trainer; Morgan Lesher, a business administration major from Dornsife; Katie Gavek, a psychology from Centre Hall; Madison Kouf, a secondary education major from Watsontown; and Dayonna Person, a business administration major from Philadelphia.

At the conference, the CU-Lock Haven club won the award for Distinguished President (Kiyona Potts); Outstanding Club Treasurer and the Distinguished Treasurer award (Morgan Lesher) and the Big 10 Award for growing the club over 10% in the 2023-24 service year. The Lock Haven club grew more than 50%.

“Attending the conference I learned many important things to help me as a club leader,” Potts said. “I learned how to plan service events, incorporate fellowship and how to gain and retain club members at workshops. It is such an awesome conference that is very beneficial for leadership and service skills.”
