Trustees Approve College Configuration, Announce Major Gift and Recognize Emeritus Retirees

BLOOMSBURG — Bloomsburg University’s Council of Trustees approved a new configuration of colleges at its quarterly meeting Dec. 8.  In addition, a $5.3M gift from Kerby Confer was announced.


The new configuration of colleges is part of the integration of Bloomsburg, Lock Haven, and Mansfield universities, which will take place on July 1, 2022. The new configuration would expand Bloomsburg’s current four colleges to five, covering all three integrating universities. The new college configuration will be comprised of: 
•    Zeigler College of Business
•    College of Education and Human Services
•    College of Health Professions
•    College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities
•    College of Science and Technology

The Kerby Confer gift will go towards the creation of the Kerby Confer Media Center.


Also, at the trustees meeting, retired faculty, staff and managers were recognized with emeritus status.


Recognized with Faculty Emeritus status were: John Grandzol, Department of Management and International Business; Carol Moore, Department of Nursing; Erik Wynters, Department of Mathematical and Digital Sciences.


Vince DiLoretto, who retired as assistant director of facilities management, was recognized as Manager Emeritus.


Kay Hess, retired custodian, and Rosemary Huber, retired secretary in the Department of History, were recognized as Non-Instructional Emeritus.
