Earlier this spring semester, the Commonwealth University-Lock Haven Criminal Justice Club had the opportunity to tour the Clinton County 9-1-1 Emergency Management Center. During the visit, students observed dispatchers in action, learned about various emergency calls they handle and gained an understanding of the role 911 operators play in coordinating emergency responses. This experience provided invaluable insights into the emergency services system and underscored the importance of responsible call usage.

"It's a unique opportunity to witness firsthand how 911 operators are integral to our safety, highlighting that their job involves much more than just answering phone calls," said Ashton Peters, club president.

"I thought it was really neat how calm and collected they seem and that there are resources such as counselors to talk to the dispatchers if they need it," said Taylor Garrison, club member.
