BLOOMSBURG— Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg will host the Confer Radio Talent Institute’s week-long course in May to prepare aspiring broadcasters for a successful radio career.

The Institute, made possible through the support of broadcaster Kerby Confer, the National Radio Talent System, and Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg, brings broadcast professionals from around the country to teach students about every aspect of the industry, including on-air programming, writing, news, sports, and sales.

Students take the Radio Advertising Bureau’s Marketing Exam during the Institute and become certified as Radio Marketing Professionals. Students will also network with industry professionals, travel to Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia for first-hand experience in sports broadcasting, and watch a live broadcast of Froggy 98.1 Altoona’s Jojo and Leapin’ Lily’s Morning Show.

The Institute will be held on Bloomsburg’s campus from Monday, May 22, to Sunday, May 28. All college students, recent graduates, and graduate students are welcome to apply. For more information or to apply, visit NationalRadioTalentSystem.com. Applications for the 2023 session are open until Friday, March 31. After acceptance, there will be a $395 registration fee; limited scholarships are available.
