Bloomsburg holding Spring '22 commencement ceremonies this weekend

Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania will hold its Spring 2022 Commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 13, and Sunday, May 15. In all, nearly 1,500 graduates will receive diplomas during three ceremonies. Only individuals holding tickets to the event will be admitted with each graduate given four tickets.
The School of Graduate Studies commencement will be Friday, May 13, at 6 p.m. in the Haas Center for the Arts, with degrees conferred on 191 master's students and 13 doctoral candidates.
On Sunday, May 15, the College of Education and College of Liberal Arts will graduate at 10 a.m., followed at 3 p.m. by the Zeigler College of Business and College of Science and Technology. The morning ceremony will feature 516 graduates, while the afternoon ceremony will feature 753 graduates. Sunday's ceremonies will be held rain or shine at Redman Stadium.
The speaker for Sunday's morning event will be Kerby Confer, while the afternoon speaker is Ronn Cort. Both men will be awarded honorary Doctor of Commercial Science degrees.
Since 1969, Confer has owned an interest and operated over 200 station licenses and is still active in 70 properties, including Altoona, Johnstown, State College, Meadville, Franklin, and Pittsburgh. Confer was inducted into the Pennsylvania Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2003.
Cort is President and COO of SEKISUI KYDEX, a Bloomsburg-based manufacturer of high-performance thermoplastic materials to create lightweight, safe, and sustainable components for aviation, space, mass transit, medical devices, and emerging industries.
