Bloomsburg FBLA Chapter Shines at National Conference

Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg recently demonstrated its commitment to excellence at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) — Collegiate National Leadership Conference held in Atlanta, Ga. The university's delegation brought home numerous awards and accolades at the June conference.

Bloomsburg was recognized as the first-place Top Fundraising March of Dimes Chapter. Bloomsburg students successfully raised funds and awareness for the March of Dimes, significantly impacting countless families' lives.

Bloomsburg was also recognized as the third-place Outstanding Chapter, which acknowledges the overall outstanding performance of the university’s FBLA chapter in various categories, highlighting their dedication to leadership, service, and professional development.

Not only did the Bloomsburg campus shine at the national level, but the Pennsylvania FBLA delegation was honored with the 1st place award for Top Fundraising March of Dimes State, solidifying their collective commitment to making a difference and helping those in need.

Individually, several BU students showcased their exceptional talents and skills. Aviel Kuhn’s outstanding performance in the Business Communication category earned them a fourth-place finish. 

Delegation members Kimberly Speece and Erica Trella achieved a fourth-place finish in the State of the Chapter category. This recognition underscores their exceptional leadership skills and their ability to cultivate a strong and cohesive FBLA chapter at BU.

In addition, Trella's exceptional skills and preparation paid off as she secured the coveted first-place position in the fiercely competitive Job Interview category. This remarkable achievement not only establishes Trella as the national champion in her category but also reflects the high caliber of education and career development offered at Bloomsburg University.

Speece's leadership record at Bloomsburg earned her the position of FBLA 2023-2024 National Executive Vice President.
