12th annual Lavender Graduation celebrates Class of 2023 graduates

Twenty soon-to-be graduates were recently honored during Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg’s annual Lavender Graduation, a celebration of its LGBTQA community and allies for their achievements made at Bloomsburg.
Elena Brobyn-Navarro ’09/M11, academic advisor and success navigator at Northampton Community College, served as the Lavender commencement speaker. Brobyn-Navarro, who holds two degrees from Bloomsburg University, is a member of Bloomsburg’s inaugural Lavender Graduation Class of 2011.
The University of Michigan celebrated the first-ever Lavender Graduation in 1995.
