The PA Breast Cancer Coalition (PBCC) is partnering with CU-Bloomsburg in hosting its photo exhibit, 67 Women, 67 Counties: Facing Breast Cancer in Pennsylvania, in the Multicultural Center from October 19-26. This unique display features photos and quotes from Pennsylvanians who have faced breast cancer in each of the state’s 67 counties. Their messages reflect the impact breast cancer can have on families and communities and stress the importance of annual screenings for early detection.PBCC President and Founder Pat Halpin-Murphy encourages everyone on campus and in the surrounding community to experience the exhibit. “Each year, 14,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in Pennsylvania. This exhibit shares the battles, bright spots, and life lessons experienced along their unique breast cancer journeys,” said Halpin-Murphy. “This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we hope you will visit the exhibit, reflect on the stories, and share the importance of breast cancer screenings with the women in your life. Thank you to PBCC Board Member Madelyn Rodriguez for bringing the exhibit to Columbia County!”This is the first visit for 67 Women, 67 Counties: Facing Breast Cancer in Pennsylvania in Columbia County. During the exhibit’s stay, there will be a special reception on Wednesday, October 23, at noon. The event is free and open to the public. The exhibit will be on display at the Multicultural Center through October 26.
