Check Your University Email
After you pay your deposit, you will receive a New Student Account letter in your application portal containing your Commonwealth U username and password, giving you access to your university email address, MyCommonwealth, and more! It's important to activate your email as soon as possible as this is the primary way the university will communicate with you.
Application Portal
You can check your admission status, letters, and important updates by logging in to your Application Portal using the personal email address and password created when you originally applied.

File Your FAFSA
Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid. By completing the FAFSA form, you'll make sure you're taking advantage of the best student loan options, as well as become eligible for grants, work-study, and scholarships. Once your financial aid offer is ready, you will receive an email to view your offer.
NOTE: If you are receiving athletic aid from your coach, this will not post until your Grant in Aid Agreement is signed and paperwork is processed through the Athletic Office and returned to Financial Aid.FAFSA Tip:

Housing & Dining Application
The 2025-2026 housing application will become available to deposited students in Mid-March 2025. More information will posted in your application portal closer to the launch of the application.

NCAA Eligibility Center Checklist
If you want to compete in NCAA sports, you need to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center. Incoming student-athletes should register with an academic and amateurism certification account to ensure you meet all eligibility requirements.

New Student Orientation
Be sure to register for New Student Orientation (NSO) where you can meet other incoming students, work on your Fall class schedule, and learn more about campus resources to ensure you start your year off strong.
Class Schedule Information
Your first semester schedule is created for you by our Registrar's Office to ensure a strong start to your college experience. Once you’ve submitted your deposit, you’ll gain access to a short survey in your application portal where you can share your preferences for general education courses.
