Lock Haven Campus

Lock Haven is located on the West Branch of the Susquehanna River in the scenic mountains of central Pennsylvania, a few minutes off I-80 (exit 178). The historic town of Lock Haven boasts a vital downtown with tree-lined streets and beautiful Victorian homes in a safe and quiet environment. Lock Haven is less than an hour from State College and Williamsport and four hours from New York, Philadelphia, Washington, and Pittsburgh. The Physician Assistant Program is housed within the Willis Health Professions Building on Railroad Street in Lock Haven, PA near East Campus. Its state-of-the-art facilities include an Anatomage virtual dissection table, physical diagnosis lab and classrooms equipped with highly interactive, television quality instructional media.

Clearfield Campus

Clearfield Campus

Commonwealth University is pleased to also offer the Physician Assistant Program at our Clearfield campus Location. Using state-of-the-art technology, the University is able to deliver high-definition television quality, fully-interactive, live broadcasts of curriculum between four campus locations. Full-time resident faculty at Clearfield conduct the same small group learning and lab experiences that are provided at the Lock Haven campus while students enjoy the more intimate environment afforded by a smaller class size. Clearfield Pennsylvania is located 60 miles west of Lock Haven and is located within a federally designated health manpower shortage area.

The Clearfield Campus is beautifully designed and provides students with a state-of-the-art facility with the latest innovations in technology. During the clinical year students from the Clearfield location complete clinical experiences at the same locations as students attending any other campus location. This educational model has been studied extensively by the program faculty and represents a highly effective mechanism to extend the PA curriculum to citizens in the western regions of the Commonwealth. Commonwealth University is one of only several programs nationally to utilize this advanced technology.

Harrisburg Campus

Commonwealth University offers the Physician Assistant Program through a third location at the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College. The city of Harrisburg is located along the banks of the beautiful Susquehanna River. Commonwealth University at HACC has been updated with state-of-the-art facilities and the latest innovations in technology. Using state-of-the-art technology, the University is able to deliver high-definition, television-quality, fully interactive, live broadcasts of curriculum between the three campus locations. Full-time resident faculty in Harrisburg conduct the same small group learning and lab experiences that are provided at the Lock Haven campus, while students enjoy the more intimate environment afforded by a smaller class size. This educational model has been studied extensively by the program faculty and represents a highly effective mechanism to extend the physician assistant curriculum to citizens in the south-central regions of the commonwealth. During the clinical year, students from the Harrisburg location complete clinical experiences at locations throughout south-central Pennsylvania and beyond. Commonwealth University is one of only several programs nationally to utilize this advanced technology.

Mansfield Campus

Note: The Commonwealth University PA Program has applied to the ARC-PA for a Program expansion to include a cohort of students at the Mansfield campus.  Pending approval of the expansion application, the Program plans to seat its first class at this location in the summer of 2025.

Commonwealth University offers the Physician Assistant Program through a fourth location at the Mansfield campus. The former Mansfield University, currently (Commonwealth University, Mansfield) is located in east-central Tioga County, situated in the beautiful Tioga River Valley in Northern Pennsylvania.  Commonwealth University at Mansfield has been updated with state-of-the-art facilities and the latest innovations in technology. Using technology, the University is able to deliver high-definition, television-quality, fully interactive, live broadcasts of curriculum between the four campus locations. Full-time resident faculty in Mansfield conduct the same small group learning and lab experiences that are provided at the Lock Haven campus, while students enjoy the more intimate environment afforded by a smaller class size. This educational model has been studied extensively by the program faculty and represents a highly effective mechanism to extend the physician assistant curriculum to citizens in the northern tier of the state. Commonwealth University is one of only several programs nationally to utilize this advanced technology. During the clinical year, students from the Mansfield location complete clinical experiences at locations throughout Northern Pennsylvania and beyond.
