The program enables students to develop a strong foundation in emerging media, particularly in the areas of new communication technologies, website development and design, and visual communications within a mass communications context. In today’s media-centric world employers are looking for individuals with multiple skills in the latest media use and design, media literacy, and web design and development.

Courses and Curriculum

Students, after successful completion of program coursework, participation in extracurricular activities and engagement with program advisors, will be able to:

  1. The student will describe how traditional and emerging media have influenced the
    communications field.
  2. The student will apply professionally competent knowledge by producing and
    maintaining various multimedia content.
  3. The student will demonstrate knowledge of social communication theories,
    principles, concepts, and methods through digital image creation and use.
  4. The student will apply ethical and legal communication skills, theories
    and policies when communicating with the mass public.
